About the event

This joyous event is spread across several acres of beautiful lawn at the Ventura College Athletic Fields, and includes a spectacular fireworks show, live music, food vendors, a Kids Fun Zone, and what we like to call 'the friendliest hometown picnic in America'!

The Ventura 4th of July Fireworks Show & Family Picnic is presented by the Ventura Rotary Club, and 100% of the event net proceeds benefit charitable community programs right here in Ventura!

Gates open at 5 pm. Fireworks show begins at approximately 9 pm. You may bring picnic items, including blankets, soft folding chairs, small coolers and food. Small personal umbrellas are allowed, however pop-ups and large umbrellas are not allowed. Please remember: No glass. No alcohol. No pets. (See FAQs below for more details.)

Tickets at lower "pre-sale" rates are now available at local Ventura area VONS stores or  via secure online purchase (powered by Eventbrite).  "Family 4-Pack" and "Family 6-Pack" tickets provide extra savings and are available online only. Tickets can also be purchased at the event gates (cash only at  gates).

The fireworks show and family picnic culminates a patriotic day of community celebration here in Ventura, beginning with the children's Pushem - Pullem Parade on Main St. and the annual downtown Street Fair.
Due to the COVID-19 public health directives, the 2021 fireworks show is cancelled.

About the Ventura Rotary Club

Founded in 1919, the Ventura Rotary Club (also known as the Downtown Rotary) has a long history of service both to the local community and the world in the form of humanitarian projects. We are proud to bring you Ventura's 4th of July Fireworks celebration for the past 24 years!

Rotary's motto is "Service Above Self", and our Club of more than 100 business professionals and civic leaders works hard to embody this motto and make a difference in our community.

We meet each Wednesday at the Derby Club starting at 12 pm. If you would like to learn more or get involved, please come join us one week!
Special Thank You to Our 2019 Sponsors!

This annual community celebration would not be possible without the support of sponsors. The simple truth is that ticket sales alone does not come close to covering the event costs. So please join the Ventura Rotary Club in thanking these organizations and businesses for their critical support!
Foremost is our presenting sponsor, Community Memorial Health System, which will once again be providing free professional face painting and glow sticks at their tent! Thank you CMHS! You docs really rock! The Ventura Auto Center and Hofer Properties continue to drive us wild with their generous support. Thank you Ventura Auto Center! Other major sponsors include Aera Energy, Ventura Water, and Ventura Environmental Sustainability.  We also recognize Bill & Elise Kearney, Far West Construction, Mission Bank, California Resources Corp., Pacific Western Bank, Rasmussen and Associates, KVTA News Talk 1590, Concours Motors, and Asian Autotech of Ventura for their generous support. Big thanks also go to CBC Federal Credit Union, Myers Widders Gibson Jones & Feingold LLP, the Crown Plaza Hotel, Case Realty, Normal Dowler Kipp Financial, Sauer Braime & Moss CPAs, Steve Bradvica CPA, Bamieh & De Smith PLC, Halter Encinas Landscaping, MJP Tecnologies, Lindsay & Company CPAs, and the SC Lending Group.

We deeply appreciate the in-kind support and partnership of Gold Coast Broadcasting, E J Harrison & Sons, Hilford Moving & Storage, Sunbelt Rentals, Fastsigns and Ventura-area VONS stores.

Special thanks also go to our site hosts, the fantastic team at Ventura College!
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are my parking options at the event?
A: There is a mix of paid and free parking available at Ventura College's various lots. PLEASE SEE THE EVENT PARKING MAP below. The West and South lots (closest to event entry gates) have a $5 parking fee (cash only.) The North lot off of Loma Vista and the large East lot (corner of Day Rd. and Telegraph) are FREE to park. If parking in the East lot, please walk along the Telegraph Road sidewalk and then walk right at Campus Way to access the event -- please DO NOT walk through the College complex which is off limits and is patrolled. There is also limited street parking in the area. Handicap parking is available in the West and South fee lots, with additional handicap overflow in Lot V.

Q: What can/can't I bring to the event?
A: You can bring a picnic, including food, coolers, drinks (in plastic or aluminum), blankets and soft folding chairs. Small umbrellas are allowed, however pop-ups and large umbrellas are not allowed. You can bring games and activities like hula hoops and Frisbees. You can bring your dancing shoes and positive attitude. Food trucks and vendors will be available. BBQs and stoves are NOT allowed. NO glass. NO alcohol. NO pets. And, of course, no fireworks since all forms of fireworks are illegal in the City of Ventura. (Don't worry, we have special permits;)
Q: Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
A: You can reach us via the "Contact us" form below or drop a private message on our Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/VenturaFireworks
Q: Do I have to print my online ticket at home and bring to the event?
A: You may either bring your printed ticket or (save paper and ink) and simply have the ticket's barcode displayed on your mobile phone for scanning at the gate.
Q: Why do you charge an entry fee for this event?
A: This event is not funded by the City or the College, though they are both gracious and invaluable partners in working with us. It is put on by a 100% volunteer staff spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Ventura. Tickets sales do NOT cover the hard costs of putting on the event (a first-class fireworks show isn't cheap and, well, the port-a-potties don't magically appear and disappear on their own!) So the event is only made possible by YOU, the paying attendee, and by the support of sponsors. Any net proceeds from the event go directly back into the community in the form of local Rotary programs and Rotary's support for many charitable and community organizations. For example, the 2018 fireworks show funded the Coats for Kids project, helped the Ventura Robotics Team crush their competition, put a Dictionary in the hands of every VUSD 3rd Grader, provided tuition to Ventura College students via the Phoenix Scholarships program, and assisted many other programs! Please know that your ticket purchase not only makes the event possible, it also supports the Ventura community. Thank you!
Q: Is my registration/ticket transferable?
A: Yes, your ticket is good for admission for the holder of the ticket. IDs/names are not checked. Also, the "Family Packs" are good for the indicated number of admissions however all persons must enter the gate together. For example, if you arrive at the gate with a "Family 4 Pack" ticket, 4 persons may enter together at that time. Children ages 3 and under are FREE. There is NO re-admittance after exiting the event (NO in-out privileges.)

Q: What is the refund policy?

A: There are no refunds. All ticket sales are final.
